2025 WRITING COMPETITION ~ SUBJECT: THE MODERN DAY HORSE

We invite young writers to unleash their creativity and imagination in our exciting writing competition, "The Modern Day Horse." This initiative aims to empower children by exploring the profound impact that horses can have on their lives. Through this competition, we believe that children can develop essential virtues such as resilience, courage, trust, respect, and the ability to stand up for themselves against challenges, including bullying.

Horses are more than just animals; they are teachers, companions, and sources of inspiration. By spending time with horses, children can cultivate qualities that will serve them throughout their lives. This competition encourages children to reflect on their experiences, whether directly with horses or through the stories they hear about these magnificent creatures. - **Submission Deadline:** January 4, 2026

- **Writing Format:** stories and essays (poems may be added in addition to the story or essay submissions)

- **Word Limit:** 2000 word limit

Entries are to be submitted by email to:  LeadingYourWayForChange@gmail.com . All submissions should be accompanied by a brief description of the child's inspiration for their piece as well as a photograph.

To support our young participants, we are providing a wealth of online resources that will help them learn about horses, even if they have never had the opportunity to interact with one. These resources include:
