During the transformative work of Voice For The Horse ™ founded in 2010 initially advocating for equine welfare, it came to mind through the universal language of music we could attract even a larger audience for this cause.
Recognizing the power of having a theme song, we elected to produce our first song Stronger, which resonated deeply with listeners and sparked our future initiatives. By hosting International Children's Writing Competitions focused on equine subjects, we engaged children outside of Canada from as far away as Australia, England, and the United States, inspiring them to join our cause.
The impact of our efforts became evident when the music video for Stronger was played in a Richland, Michigan, U.S.A. fifth-grade classroom bringing tears to the children's eyes and igniting their passion for horses. This emotional response led us to envision a more expansive project to include producing additional songs accompanied by curriculum designed to educate children about the significance of horses in our lives today. Our aim was to teach them the virtues embodied by horses—kindness, trust, and peacefulness only to name a few—while nurturing a virtuous worldview.
Thus, the vision for the Leading the Change Music Project came to life. We believed if we could move a classroom of 27 children bringing them to unity and kindness in a 12 minute educational music video presentation, what might be the possibility if we offered them the opportunity to create their own music video in an annual team project we would provide song tracks for? What possibilities could unfold if we encouraged them to delve within and discover their own artistic talents where they would be showcased as a team representing their school, their community and through social media platforms, ultimately connecting participating schools across the country sharing their creativity?
Through the Leading Your Way For Change Society, it is our hope to further inspire our next generations to embrace and discover their own unique and creative sides fostering a deeper connection with both horses and the virtues that guide us all.
With an album of music already produced through Voice For The Horse ™ , we are pleased to be able to showcase our music video productions to include our Trilogy of Songs written and recorded specifically for the Leading The Change Music Project for kids!
Meet Olivia Pero, former Ambassador for Voice For The Horse who showcased our Stronger music video to her Grade 5 Classroom back in 2012. Olivia's inspirations led to the evolving of further songs produced for our album with the vision of creating a musical program which would engage community, children and horses! Scroll up to minute 1:07 seconds to listen to Olivia's intro and her greeting!
